About the Artist

Jan Barber holds a degree in Art from Southwest Texas University. She has also studied under noted Texas artists Simon Michael, Dalhart Windberg and Sonny Timme.

Her art reflects her connection to the environment, portraying the many moods of the landscape in which she finds peace.

Jan lives in the foothills of the Pinal Mountains in Globe, Arizona, fulfilling a lifelong dream to be close to the beauty and spirituality of the mountain landscape.

Jan is also known for her sensitive renditions of homes, buildings and portraits of people. The portraits Jan does conjure memories of the people who inhabited them and the events that took place in them.

Although many building are works of art themselves, the structures often don't withstand time. Through her art, Jan can enable the homes and buildings as well as many special memories to live on.
